Synesthesia Writing Exercises

Have you ever heard of synesthesia?
It's when one mixes up the senses, basically. For example: "A wolf's howl tastes like the rain" mixes sound and taste, "That song was a sweet-smelling rose" mixes sound and smell, "Your shirt is loud today" combines sight and sound, and so on. I remember a time when I was in a writing group and we did a great exercise that used just this. We were each given two senses to use (out of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell) and were to create a sentence like the previous two. It was fun, and very helpful. So, if you want to improve your writing and stretch your brain, I suggest giving this a try!
